YUSUKE

OKABAYASHI

AIA, LEED AP, NCARB

I am a licensed architect in NY and NJ, as well as a LEED AP.

After graduating from Princeton University School of Architecture in 2004, I spent 15 years as an architect and eventual Project Manager/Senior Associate at Pei Cobb Freed and Partners (PCF). For the award-winning 1.7 million square foot project at Santa Clara Square in California, as the sole Project Manager from PCF, I was involved in all phases of production over several years, including architectural design, negotiations with the contractor Hathaway Dinwiddie, meetings with the owner, The Irvine Company, and multiple site visits for meetings and punch listing. I am comfortable collaborating with people among the different phases of a large project to successfully coordinate. I gained a lot of experience working closely with Harry Cobb FAIA, Michael Bischoff AIA and Jose Bruguera AIA tackling large site problems down to 3" details.

I balanced my large-scale commercial project experience from PCF with school, residential, and commercial projects working with Bob Hillier FAIA for four years at Studio Hillier. As the Design Phase Project Manager of a developer-owned 190,000 square foot public school in Newark, I juggled tenants’ needs along with those of the developer. We conducted weekly meetings with as many as two dozen participants, including building management and educators, as well as members of the Newark Board of Education and owners’ representatives. This required an attention to detail to school standards and specifications.
